China AI Desk is an independently operated publication covering China AI models, systems, policy, repositories, and deployment. It publishes numbered analyses and dated field logs for readers who need the source record, the limits of that record, and the practical consequence kept distinct.
Claim discipline
Four states, not one voice
Every report is written to keep different kinds of claims visible rather than blending them into narrative certainty.
- Fact. What the cited record directly establishes.
- Inference. What follows from the record through stated reasoning, without being directly asserted by the source.
- Unknown. What the checked material does not establish and what has not been independently observed.
- Editorial judgment. The publication's assessment of consequence, risk, or responsible next action.
Source standard
Primary records take priority
Company documentation, repositories, research papers, regulatory texts, government records, and other first-party materials take priority over commentary. Secondary reporting may provide context, but it does not silently replace the underlying record.
Source dates and editorial check dates are shown where they matter. A dated check states what was available when the page was examined; it is not an evergreen claim that the same condition remains current.
Corrections
Repair the record.
Do not erase the history.
When a correction materially changes a published fact, inference, or judgment, China AI Desk adds a dated public correction note that explains the change. It does not silently rewrite the historical record as though the earlier material never appeared.
Minor copy repairs may be made without a formal note when they do not change meaning. New evidence can produce a later update or issue; it does not retroactively make an old source check current.
Reader Desk boundary
Contribution is not endorsement.
Issue comments enter a private moderation queue and appear publicly only after review. Reader names are not verified. Published comments remain reader contributions: they are not primary-source evidence or editorial endorsement.
- Moderation. Spam, harassment, private data, unsupported allegations, and off-topic promotion are not published.
- Privacy. Comments collect no email. Private suggestions are not publicly readable; contact email is optional and used only with reply consent.
- Minimization. The Reader Desk does not create reader accounts or store raw IP addresses. Readers should not submit secrets, confidential records, account details, or sensitive personal information.
- Independence of voice. Covered companies, governments, repositories, and institutions are not represented by China AI Desk, and the publication does not speak for them.
